PROGRAMMES
The Centre provides a variety of Outdoor Education Programmes carefully designed and updated to meet the needs of the Post Primary and Primary School Curricula. The programmes outlined below vary in duration from one-day multi-activity courses up to five-day residential stays. We can also tailor a programme to suit your specific needs.

Programmes include some or all of the following activities:
Discovery Programme (Transition Year Students)
This residential programme, which ideally runs over a four-day period, has been tailored to suit the needs of
Transition Year Students. We have selected our activities to enable Transition Year Students develop
new skills both personal and technical in an outdoor setting.
Explorer Programme (Leaving Certificate Applied)
From one-day taster sessions to our full four-day residential, our explorer program will provide the
setting for those who choose the Outdoor Activity Option of the Leaving Certificate Applied Recreation
and Leisure Module. The program will provide opportunity for team building, leadership and skill
acquisition.
Woodland Ecology (Junior Cert/Leaving Cert Syllabus)
As part of the Centres comprehensive Outdoor Education Policy, we run a highly successful Woodland Ecology
Programme. The one-day course, taught by experienced and motivated teachers, is tailored for students taking
the Biology sections of the new Junior and Leaving Certificate Science Syllabus. Our course fieldwork takes
place in the Lords Wood, an area of significant woodland diversity; only minutes walk from the Centre.
Primary School Tour (Children Aged 8 and over)
A fun filled multi-activity day, ideal for Primary School children. Pupils will take part in four activities;
Canoeing, Indoor Rock-Climbing, Orienteering and Archery. Lunch is provided along with use of all specialist
equipment. Schools interested in our tour should consider booking as early as January to avoid
disappointment.

Summer Camp (Children Aged 11-16)
This five-day (M/F) residential summer camp is an action packed week, which runs on selected weeks during July
and August. Participants will receive full board and accommodation with expert tuition in many outdoor activities
including Canoeing, Archery, Rock-Climbing and Abseiling. Participants will be placed in small groups according
to age and ability. The camp will be supervised on a 24-hour basis.
